Jedi's Real Life - Episode 1

Thursday, May 29, 2008

Graduation week, the official beginning of summer for a high school student. So what have I done: sat at home, read a book, sat some more at home, read some more of that book, did some yard work, and played in the band for graduation. So, in other words, not a whole lot.

But I will say this past 2 months have been some of the most interesting of my life. The school caught on fire, giving us a few extra days of spring break and putting us on half days for the rest of April and May. Everyone was overjoyed at first, but the true hell of the situation would show soon enough. I have one friend who is VERY close to her boyfriend, and she was in a very depressed mood for a week after they were split in the morning and afternoon scheduals. It was hard for me to watch, as she is a very close friend of mine as well.

Then there was the lake. I am not exagerating when I describe this: after the fire, the entire center of the school was closed and we were forced to travel around the building to get to our classes on the other side. The thing was, there was only one logical path around the building (going the other way was far too long, you would have been late for class). But not today. There was now a 10x8, 6 inch deep lake that cut off our usuall road. It was like watching a scene from a disaster area. People had formed a makeshift pathway from sandbags that were holding down the fence around a construction site next to the school. But it was two-way traffic on a one-lane highway: at a crawl. Finally myself and six of my friends came up with this brilliant sollution: let's charge the lake and just get through. We ended up on the other side soaked to the knees and cold.

But we survived that, and we survived our freshman year. Now a whole summer lies ahead of us and it will be no bore. Our Marching Band has plans to rule the world, I have two trips planned, there are funds to be raised for my Rose Bowl trip this fall, and Eagle Project to be done, and hours upon hours of caffine-crazed teens hanging out and causing mass caos. God help us all.

To be continued...

First Post

OK, the first post to my blog. Probably should just introduce what I'm doing here: this blog is to keep in contact with friends, family, and everyone who reads my stories on fanfiction.net. Oh, and if you are interested in politics, I tend to ramble about that, too. Anyway, I'm afraid that I don't have anything exciting to post right now, except that I am FINALLY out for winter break and that my new website is under construction, link coming soon.

Have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Oh and a quick P.S. for fanfiction.net readers: Chapter 2 of my Halo story will be up THIS WEEK, and I will take a short break after that to write a holiday oneshot.
